Thinkware F200 dash cam Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Does not destroy your budget
  • Comes with a rearview camera
  • Recording Modes
  • The front camera offers 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • Easy to set up

Cons:

  • There is no LCD screen
  • The mobile application is slightly challenging to understand
Thinkware F200 dash cam design:

Given the lack of an LCD screen, the size of the camera is smaller than most, which do offer a degree of accessibility. The package comes with an SD card and a card reader, thereby saving you from that expense whereas the hardwiring kit has all you need to set up your device.

Attaching it is elementary courtesy of a mounting kit. All you have to do is remove the material on the back of the clip and push it into place. As the SD card is inserted at the bottom, this should be done before placing the camera. The 6 meters of cables that it comes with are enough to put both front and rear cameras whereas the GPS module can be connected through attaching a wire to one of the ports.

Once set up, you will need to download a mobile application to use the device. The app is well designed, but there are problems as it does not inform you of updates, meaning you do them manually, and nor does It come with clear instructions.

Thinkware F200 video quality:

The front camera courtesy of the Sony CMOS technology offers crisp image quality which offers 1920×1080 resolutions for the front camera and a lower 720p resolution for the rear camera.

The lens also provides a wide array of color to be captured, and the camera performed well, even in conditions where there was a distinct lack of light. The high compression feature, however, does save space but it does lead to a drop in quality, especially when compared with the other cameras in this range.

Thinkware F200 user-friendliness:

The Thinkware is easy to install and comes with everything you may need for your setup. However, there may be problems while using the mobile application at first as it requires some getting used to.

Once you do, accessing videos becomes an easy task, and you will begin to marvel at the design. The price is also relatively low for a dash cam however it may cost a lot more if you add in the expenditure for the rear camera and GPS module.

Thinkware F200 specifications:
  • Dimensions: 33.9 x 0.9 x 1.3 inches
  • Weight: 1.92 ounces

Although it does not break as much new ground as you would hope, this dash cam is indeed a reliable and efficient device you would not mind spending money upon.
